Is there anything it can’t do?

Batter Blaster

Tis the season when your grocery store shelves runneth over with delightful berry time goodness. I don’t know about you, but in summer my first container of raspberries is practically poured straight into my gaping maw. They’re so freakishly good.

Fresh blueberries … tell me you’ve had fresh blueberries. That sugary stain in your muffins doesn’t count. In a salad, in pancakes, in your belly. Blueberries can do no wrong.

Thus it’s only natural berries be paired with the most brilliant grocery innovation since the microwave dinner. Oh, yes. I mean the Batter Blaster.

You thought it only made pancakes, but through the miracle of modern grocery technology, you have the power to create individual berry cobblers from a mere 4 ingredients (2 of which come free with coffee!) while barely lifting a hand. We may not have flying cars, but I can’t protest a future where we have aerosol batter.

  • ½ cup frozen berries (your choice)
  • 1 packet sugar (grab an extra when you get coffee)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (also available at Starbucks)

This works best in a ramekin. If you don’t own a ramekin, use the smallest oven safe pan or dish you own. You may have to double up the recipe, you poor suffering fool.

Mix the berries and sugar.

Dump them in the ramekin.

Spray a quick burst from your batter blaster on top.

Sprinkle the brown sugar on the batter.

Cook at 350 for 10 minutes, or whenever your burst of batter turns golden brown.

The moment I saw this Batter Blaster stuff I went out and grabbed some. I made some pretty delicious pancakes with the stuff. I’ll have to try this cobbler recipe though.
